back at it

Holidays are awesome, right?! I mean who doesn’t love a paid day off and lots of time to hang with friends and family?

However, what I don’t love is the post holiday coma. Having to get back into the swing of things. Everyone looked like zombies in the office today.

So I will be the first to admit that I most certainly indulged this holiday. I had friends in town starting Wednesday night, and lots of pizza, beer and ice cream was enjoyed. Some vegan/gluten free Indian food and a pumped up smoothie was also in there. And we walked. Everywhere! So I like to think it will even out.

What is better than dwelling is focusing on what comes next. I’ve learned that I need time to decompress after being around people for long periods of time. I’ve spent a considerable amount of time alone the last year, and it’s where I am comfortable. So yesterday I bought a much needed bike! And took my slightly hung over self on a ten mile bike ride. It was like hitting the reset button.

Sweating out those extra calories and laying in the grass made me feel much more balanced and ready to take on this week! I even completed a 30 minute HIIT workout at home tonight when I really just felt like napping. I’ll consider that a serious win.
