Progress is a beautiful thing. I was talking to someone earlier today about their “get fit and healthy” journey. They have had a really hard time staying on the wagon.
One thing that has really helped me is tracking progress and being able to focus on how far I have come. Instead of feeling deprived, I feel accomplished when I turn down the extra cookie or office donuts. Set goals and measure against them. For example, for yoga, nailing crow has always been a goal. I finally nailed it last week.
I’ve lost eight inches off my waist. Two inches off my arms and hips. AND I don’t want to die after spin class 🙂
I also had a health assessment a few weeks ago. We have to get them done each year for health insurance and I’m healthier than this time last year in every category.
Before and after pics are awesome too. Maybe with some encouragement I will post those too!
Anyway, my point is remember where you started. Focus on how far you’ve come, not how far you have to go.
