Jenna: Flywheel benefiting Girls on the Run

The last few weeks have been really busy! Mostly packed with fun stuff, I’ve had plans on my calendar almost every single night. Last Wednesday, this included a donation Flywheel class benefiting Girls on the Run.

I’ve posted about Flywheel a few times, so you all know that I LOVE it. It’s a bit pricey at $25 a class, so I am always keeping an eye out for discounts or deals. When I saw that Girls on the Run was hosting a donation class there, I jumped on the opportunity to take advantage. I love this organization and their mission. I have researched and reached out to them a few times, but haven’t had a chance to connect with them quite yet. I’d like to become a SoleMate now that I’ve gotten a bit more into running. I love their mission, which is “We inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.”

I was feeling pretty sleepy last Wednesday and considering bailing. However, I made myself start walking the city at 6pm so I didn’t fall asleep prior to the 7:45pm class. Ryan was teaching, and I absolutely love his energy. It was also JT versus Brittany so the play list was super fun. I made my $20 donation, walked in, I got my shoes on and ready to go.

flywheelshoesThis class was a little rough considering it was 2 days after I ran Broad Street. My knee was still pretty sore, but the cycling didn’t seem to bother it during class. I took it easy on some of the sprints. It felt amazing to be dripping with sweat once I left. I had missed a hardcore cardio session. Sweating it out for a good cause? Yes please.
