Rose & Jenna: Super Friday

Over the weekend, we had an exclusive opportunity to work out with Autumn Calabrese, creator of the 21 Day Fix. The event was Super Friday at the Omni William Penn Hotel and, because we are both Beachbody coaches, we were invited to attend. There is a lot to recap from the night, but one of the big highlights is that not only did we get to work out with Autumn, but we also got to see our team. Though we’re super connected through social media, we don’t always see each other in person. So sweating it out with our teammates was quite a treat!


We got to our hotel room around 4:30 p.m., quickly changed and got ready for the event. The theme was WHITE and FANCY, though the fancy part was optional. Rose used it as an opportunity to Rent the Runway, and Jenna sprung for a new dress. We were both happy with our choices.


One thousand people crowded into the ballroom, and there were barely any seats available by the time we arrived. We finally snagged two chairs near a much-too-loud speaker. The program begin with recognitions and success stories. Then, we learned about some of Beachbody’s upcoming products including Beachbody ON DEMAND. That IS exactly what you think — DVD programs will be available through online streaming. Pretty cool, and it will be rolled out later this year. Likewise, we heard all about Autumn’s new workout: the 21 Day Fix Extreme. We even got to preview it for ourselves, which was super cool. Here are some of the details:

  • This program is similar to the 21 Day Fix in that it comes with portion-controlled containers, an eating guide and a workout regime for 21 days.
  • This program will go EXTREME. That means: no treats, harder workouts and a stricter meal plan.
  • Who is it for? Anyone who plateaued on the 21 Day Fix and needs to kick things up. Serious athletes. Those who are close to goal weight.

So what did we think of the workouts? We each weigh in below:

Rose: Autumn’s workouts have a repetitive nature to them, which is effective for people who don’t have rhythm! These moves are far harder than the original Fix but are still achievable. You complete one move. Then you complete that same move and add another. And so on until you’re doing nearly 10 moves. I thought the 30 minutes went by extremely fast, and each round I challenged myself more.

Jenna: The first time I did the 21 Day Fix, I focused much more on the meal plan than I did the workouts. Once I gave them a shot, I liked them way more than I thought they would. The thirty minute length can’t be beat, and Autumn makes you work the whole time to see maximum results.

The 21 Day Fix EXTREME workout that we got to preview stepped it up a notch. It went by incredibly fast, and you didn’t realize exactly how many squats or push-ups you were doing since the moves were broken up into circuits. The workout we previewed will only be available if you order it through coaches, so be sure to let us know if you are interested.


All in all, the night was an incredible chance to network with some of the top coaches, including our own team. We both left feeling inspired about coaching and our plans for 2015. While this “business” certainly isn’t perfect, it is led by a pretty incredibly guy – Carl Daikeler, the CEO. Seeing him speak fueled our passion even more.
